Chevy Chase Country Club wedding | Red wedding dress | Denise & Rick

As if the Bride wearing a Red wedding dress  didn’t make me delirious with joy,  photographing Denise and Rick was like a shot of adrenaline! They are both happy people, but together as a couple they’re practically glowing!! It was such a pleasure photographing them and their families at Chevy Chase Country Club.

Bandolino from Macy’s for the ceremony…Red Converse sneakers for the reception.

Fist look!

They are just the happiest couple ever!!

Venue – Chevy Chase Country Club

No extra charge for the sometimes funny, occasionally bad jokes 😉

The signing of the Ketubah.

Beautiful ceremony by Rabbi Ari Margolis.

Flowers – Joseph’s Florist in Libertyville

Cake – Sweet Ali’s Gluten-Free Bakery

Music – Michael Walters Orchestra

From the Bride…

‘Venue – Chevy Chase Country Club – Truly a hidden gem. The Devonshire room is classy and beautiful – more of a city feel in the suburbs, and they indulged us in doing food stations, which was more work for them, but our guests loved it! They couldn’t have been better about handling our and our guests’ dietary requirements, and carefully marked the gluten-free and vegan items.

Dress – Maggie Yan from Deemi Fashion. She was simply amazing. She took my vision of a red dress and made it a reality. It was the biggest dress she’d ever made, and of course, the first red wedding dress!

Music – Michael Walters Orchestra.  One word – AMAZING.  EVERYONE raved about them.  They kept us dancing all night, learned a new song for us, and couldn’t have been easier to work with!  They did every single thing we asked, exactly as requested.

Flowers – Joseph’s Florist in Libertyville.  We worked with Jill.  She helped us create an elegant look without breaking the bank.

Cake – Sweet Ali’s Gluten-Free Bakery.  The cake was beautiful, but best of all, all of our guests ate it and liked it!  Ali is the nicest woman ever, and we’re grateful that even with gluten allergies, we got a traditional-looking wedding cake!

Tux – Men’s Wearhouse.   Rick looks handsome wearing anything, if you ask me.

Shoes – my heels were Bandolino from Macy’s – they cost $34.  The more fun detail is that I ditched the heels for the red Converse sneakers after the ceremony!

Your favorite wedding related purchase? THE DRESS. Your favorite wedding memory? Standing with Rick under our chuppah – just soaking in the moment and marveling at how much we’d been through. Funny moments? When Rick and I totally fumbled through the Jewish tradition of circling 7 times (it wasn’t easy in the big dress, and we almost forgot to do it altogether!), and the Rabbi noted that we circled “Seven-ish” times! Also when I said in my vows that I know I’m not the easiest person, and everyone laughed. A lot. Something you wish you would have done differently? Totally regret not videoing it. Should have done it, 100%. Any additional thoughts you’d like to share? We’d like to add a thank you to our amazing photographer, who was so much more than photographer that day! You became a memorable part of our day and night and were a huge help!

We feel so lucky to have this second chance at marriage! Our best advice is to keep the focus on the marriage, not the wedding. And to have a good rain plan if you choose an outdoor venue for your ceremony or celebration – it rained for ours, and it was so nice having an equally lovely Plan B! ‘

Eaglewood Resort & Spa Wedding | Chicago wedding photographer | Amanda & Mike

I met Amanda though her friends when I photographer their weddings. (Hello Heidi, what’s up Katie :D) I also knew most of the Bridesmaids though these weddings, so needless to say it was great hanging out with these fun ladies!!   I had a blast photographing this gorgeous couple, I mean they look like freaking models, but they are also kind, sweet and very much in love. The kids at the wedding gave me plenty of photo ops as well, keep scrolling to see them 😉

The little flower girl was all smiles ’till she saw the ring bearer in tears, then it was game over, and she took off for her Mom…please note the flowers petals flying out from her basket 😀

OMG this kid with the stink eye!! 🙂

This was my first time working with Rev. Phil, and I certainly hope to work with him again. He is a true professional who took the time to email me before the wedding and give me the run down of the ceremony. He made sure I had the heads up for anything taking place during  the vows, and he set up the best bubble exit ever!! Thank you Rev. Phil!

From the Bride…
“Favorite memory – looking at my handsome hubby as I walked down the aisle and how we kissed before the ceremony began (whoops!)
Funny moments – my panic attack from the heat and my maid of honor’s dress strap busting open
I wish I would have worn my hair up considering how hot it was 🙂
Advice for couples – Be in the moment, laugh at anything that goes wrong, and remember the meaning of the day – you just married the love of your life!”

Lacuna Lofts wedding photos | Chicago unique loft wedding venue | Beata & Steve

Words cannot express how happy I was to photograph this wedding. The Bride, Beata (Dahlia Blooms Design) has been my favorite florist to work with for so many years, I can’t even remember. She’s a beautiful, kind soul who dedicates herself to make couples happy, and I was thrilled when she asked me to be her photographer. Steve her husband is the man who knows everyone, everywhere. His company (SC Lighting Design) did the amazing lighting for the reception. Big thank you to Steve’s brother Bryan who got us into the Board of trade, where we created truly unique photos. What a great GREAT day this was 😀

From the couple….

Angel Eyes Photography -Having Hilda as our photographer was the best decision we made. We were so lucky to have Hilda and Carol with us on our special day. Hilda has blown us away with her sneak peek photos!!!!
Flowers – Lovely from May Floral – having my flower friend design my flowers on our wedding day was so stress free…I can’t imagine doing my own flowers, she did an amazing job.

Event Coordinators – Sara & Matt – ESP Presents
Transportation – Windy City Limousine
 Surprise Performance – Darling Squire
Wedding Bands – Krystyna’s Jewelers
Audio & Sound – AIS
Lighting – SC Lighting Design

We loved purchasing our wedding bands from our good friend Bernie who owns Krystyna’s Jewelers in Lemont – Steve bought my engagement ring from Krystyna’s and she helped us pick our beautiful wedding bands.
We had so much fun taking photos with our bridal party at the Board of Trade, a big thank you to Steve’s brother Bryan who was able to get us inside the building and up on the rooftop, it was an amazing view.
Another favorite memory was walking into cocktail hour and seeing our close family and friends there who came to celebrate with us
Funny Moments from the wedding: Me putting my slip on upside down, and my Maid of Honor, Renee, helping me flip it over…Having wedding crashers at the wedding pretending to be our cousins.
I recommend not leaving things to the last minute (considering we planned the wedding in less than 5 months, I thought overall we did a good job)
Enjoy every moment of your wedding day because it truly goes by fast, hiring an amazing photographer helps take us back to that day to relive all those moments.’
