Proposal at the Signature Room, John Hancock Center Chicago Illinois

Two-two-twelve, [2-2-2012] a day Amparo will remember for the rest of her life. It was her 30th Birthday, and her boyfriend Thomas hired a limo to take them for a very special Birthday celebration at the World famous Signature Room, in beautiful Downtown Chicago. What she didn’t know that Thomas was going to propose and he hired a photographer (Yey!!) to record the very happy occasion.  The proposal was set for 8 PM, but me being a nervous Nellie, I was already there at 7.  I passed the time by enjoying the view form the ladies room, yes the best view is in the ladies lounge upstairs. Even foggy it’s still so breathtaking.

There are no walls people, the windows are the walls…from floor to ceiling.

When it got close to the proposal time I found their waitress, and made sure she would give me the heads up before bringing out the chocolate box with the ring inside. Here’s Amparo opening the box.

It’s finally sinking in….Thomas down on not one, but two knees! Way to go Thomas!

She said Yes!!!

Congratulations!!!!

After dinner, we had a little mini photo session on Michigan Avenue.

I was surprised to see that the lights were still up from the Holidays, and took full advantage of it!

The one below is my favorite!

Awww, how cute! And so happy!!!

Thank you Thomas and Amparo for allowing me to be a small part of your love story :)

There are always more photos on Facebook :) Be a Friend or Fan :D

I also love blog comments, thanks for stopping by!

Betsy and Will engagement session, Evanston IL [fun couple portraits]

When I met up with Betsy and Will for their shoot it was raining. Betsy looked so disappointed, but I told her we’re going to go ahead with the session anyway if they were game and I’m very glad they were :)

There was some gorgeous light under the covered picnic area….and the fact that they laughed at my jokes was a bonus ;)

LOVE!!!

Such good sports.

What a cute couple!

The rain let up long enough to ditch the umbrellas and play on the beach.

This is their furry child Lucy, she’s just as photogenic as her parents.

There’s something about this one I love so much.

Photo of the week Betsy & Will, Evanston engagement photos

A little rain didn’t bring this cute couple down, they just rolled with my plan to keep shooting despite the weather. Love this photo :)

Nicole and Ricky, Chicago urban engagement (portrait) session

One location, so many options. I met up with Nicole and Ricky in the City, we parked and decided just to walk around and see what cool locations we’d come across. These type of sessions are so fun, no crowds to fight or parking to worry about, and of course having  cute photogenic couple to play with never hurts ;)

We started here, and the rest of the locations are just within a few blocks.

Yes, I know…they are this cute in real life too.

Nicole *worked* those heels!

The next three are my favorites!

I will stop at nothing to get a laugh, I have NO shame…zero, zilch, nada…and I’m OK with that ;)

I will find reflections….

…and red doors, everywhere I go.

Rusty bridges are awesome too.

But nothing beats LOVE!

Sara and Chad, Adler Planetarium Chicago Engagement photography

I met up with Sara and Chad on a super hot and humid day, I mean wowzers it was hard to breathe. But these two cuties pulled off looking sexy and cool despite the heat.

Major cuteness!

Chicago has the best skyline is the entire World, no contest.

Love!

I did save the best two for last, yep this one is my favorite :D

…and this one too…

Dawn and Peter, Chicago lakefront engagement session

Dawn and Pete are proud adoptive doggie  parents, say hello to their puppy Ferb.  He’s so cute and he loves to go chase the bunnies at the nearby park, so we started off the session with a little walk to look for bunnies…but first we had to make a quick stop when I saw this beautiful natural shadow frame.

At the bunny park, Ferb is really anxious to get in.

Took full advantage of the gorgeous light.

:)

FAVORITE!!! I love everything about this photo, the color, the different textures the cuteness of Peter and Dawn, and how the puppy is looking at them.

At their condo Ferb models for a treat. Look at his little tail wagging :)

Yes, he’s the perfect little model.

“D” is for Dawn.

Gotta love a couple who will sit on the ground when I ask them to, without missing a beat.

These next two are my favorites as well, the sky was perfection.

LOVE!

Casey and Eric, Chicago Illinois downtown engagement session

Casey’s only request for their engagement photos is that includes the Chicago skyline, got that covered no problem with a few bonus shots and locations as well ;)

As most of my regular blog readers know I love the color red, reflections and clouds…I’m happy to say I got all those covered on this post :)

Eric (aka Chicago’s DJ Jem)  was quite the relaxed model, he’s a pro in front of the camera and behind the DJ booth.

Love!

Why yes, they are cute and photogenic, thanks for noticing!

Favorite!!!

And the reflection shot  in their lobby.

Shannon and John Chicago engagement session

Despite the 95 degree heat, and the fact that John doesn’t like to ‘pose’ for photos I think we all did a fabulous job with this engagement session :) Looking forward to the wedding very soon!!

Love this one!

I love Chicago!

I made a comment that I loved his hair,  and he said thanks but he needs a shampoo  ;)

John proposed on a carriage ride, so we definitely had to take a photo there.

My new favorite top secret location for photos ;)

Kristin and Tom, Palatine engagement session

I met up with Kristin & Tom in Downtown Palatine, they live there and they met at a local bar so the City has special meaning for them. We had a lot of fun walking around and exploring the area :)

Kristin claimed those shoes were comfortable, I’m not sure if I believe her…but they sure were sexy!

One of my favorites!

If front of the bar where they met :)

LOVE this one.

Her gorgeous rock.

Cuteness ;)

Favorite!!!

Amy and Dan, Illinois Engagement session

So I might as well jump right in and start with my favorite photo from Amy and Dan’s session. I’m a huge fan of color, but this photo just had to be Black and White. It’s so much more interesting and dramatic.

Another favorite!

But I like this one in color as well :)

These two little tots wouldn’t move so I included them in the photo, then later I noticed that their clothes matched Amy & Dave’s! HA!

Great choice on the clothes, you guys looked great!

I love it when a couple incorporates something fun and/or meaningful in the session, Mr. Monkey was the perfect model ;)
