Emma 6 months [Glenview|Chicago Baby|Family photography, fun natural photos]

This adorable 6 month old cutie, belongs to one of my favorite couples. I shot their engagement and wedding photos, so I was really looking forward to meeting baby Emma.

(Just a little side note…although weddings and engagements keep me very very busy, I still  enjoy shooting baby and family sessions 🙂  I’m only available during the week Monday-Thursday. However for newborn photography I’d like to recommend my friend and colleague Carol. She also does family and event photography. Please check out her website Today Everlasting Photography here<<< and on Facebook<<<)

A real life baby doll, she’s just so flipping adorable!

Love this one!

Photo of the week, Kristin [artistic Bridal Portrait photography Chicago Illinois]

Kristin had the most incredible Cathedral length veil. It was covered in petals, truly something I’ve never seen. We had some time before the ceremony to do some Bridal portraits in the ladies lounge (aka the bathroom ;)). I asked her Bridesmaids to hold up the veil so the petals framed her.  Played around in Photoshop to make it a little more fine-art-like, and here’s the end result. It reminds me of an old world renaissance painting.  Can’t you just imagine how great this would printed on a huge canvas?  One of my favorite Bridal portraits ever!  Thank you for being a patient and beautiful Bride Kristin 🙂

Naperville River-Walk wedding photos [Naperville, Illinois wedding photography] Our Saviours Lutheran Church | Meg and Andy

When I walked into Meg and Andy’s house I felt like I was at a styled magazine shoot, everything looked perfect and beautiful.

Flowers by Town & Country Gardens in Geneva, IL

The flowers were gorgeous!

I had two supervisors making sure I did a good job with the detail shots, meet supervisor one.

And supervisor two, how cute is he with the little ear bent back 🙂

Dress by-Wolsfeld’s in Aurora, IL

I love the detachable straps!

Meanwhile Andy and his Dad get ready.

The ceremony took place at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Naperville.  I love this photo so much…Meg walking down the isle with her Dad towards a beaming Andy. Andy’s Dad is all smiles as well…meanwhile Meg’s Maid-of-honor, who’s also her twin sister is overcome with emotion. This, in my humble opinion is a perfect moment.

Pastor  Mark Borgetti will forever have my respect and gratitude and here’s why…Not only did he perform an amazing, funny, heart-felt ceremony he also managed to make this photographer very happy 🙂 After Meg and Andy met at the altar, he told everyone with a camera or a cell phone camera to remain standing. He then turned the Bride & Groom to the guests, and told everyone they have 30 seconds to take their photos. Everyone was happy and it greatly reduced the guest flash camera interruption during the ceremony. FYI I always shoot without a flash during the ceremony.

I usually don’t usually show too many formal Church shots, but yes I happily do them. Not only was the bridal party great, but these kids were the most well behaved children I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I was so happy to have plenty of time to spend with this gorgeous couple. I will say it again and again…if you want beautiful, happy, relaxed, romantic portraits you need to give your photographer time. We had about two hours to make magic happen, and boy did we ever!  I mean seriously WOW Meg, girl you are a stunner.

I don’t remember what I said to her…

…but clearly I’m hilarious 😉

Andy, looking handsome.

I do love color…

…but sometimes B&W is a must.

Favorite, obviously 🙂

From the Bride…

“Favorite memories: Taking photos with Andy on the river-walk with Hilda and Carol. You both made the photography so easy, fun, and natural. The quality of work is evident in the photos we’ve seen. The attention to detail in each photo has captured the essence and atmosphere of our wedding day so perfectly.

Second favorite-Andy and my entrance in to the reception…probably the most personal touch of the day.
What would I have done differently: Nothing. It was fun, it was a relaxed yet beautiful day, and I felt nothing but happiness”

Lots more coming in part 2…if you like the photos, please leave a comment. There’s more photos on Facebook.

Leanne and Pete Engagement session, Des Plaines, IL [Chicago wedding planning]

I really wanted to start off this blog post with a bang bling…yes, I drooled when I saw it.

What a cute couple!

The original McDonald’s in Des Plaines.

The nice Firemen gave us permission to shoot by the station, and I got my red fix!

I’m not a huge fan of smoking, however I really like this photo. Pete made the whole bad boy thing look sexy 😉

A little more eye candy for the ladies.

Fulton’s on the River, Chicago downtown Wedding reception | Casey and Eric [2]

Here’s the second part to Casey & Eric’s super-fun-and-awesome wedding, click here to see part one. Thank you to the Bridal party for humoring me 🙂

Millennium Park, Chicago.

The reception was at Fulton’s on the River. When we got there the boys changed into their Nike’s, which were way more comfortable than the rented dress shoes!

Love this one.

This one too 🙂

The centerpieces were probably my favorite ever. The simplicity of the tulips and the pop of color was so pretty.

Is this not the cutest card box ?  Casey is a huge Louis Vuitton fan so of course a LV suitcase card box was perfect.

The treats were from Chicago Wedding Candy Buffet.

Custom cake topper from Etsy. I admire the little details they include like the stethoscope for Casey(she’s a nurse) and the Headphones for Eric (he’s a DJ) And of course their baby, Diego 🙂

Party time!

DJ Arkitek packed the dance floor…seriously he was so good that even when it was time for us to leave we were drawn back by the music.

From the Bride…

“Reception: Fulton’s on the River with Levy Events was where we chose to have our reception, and they were awesome! Jamie Patrick was our planner, and she made it really easy. The food was incredible, from the appetizers to the steaks, to the slider and french fry station at the end of the night, and the drinks kept flowing! The cake made by Bleeding Hearts Bakery was great, too! The red velvet and chocolate choices were delicious! Fulton’s set everything up to perfection, there were plenty of staff to help with the event, and it all turned out just as we had hoped! We were so glad we went with this venue and were not disappointed! One of our favorite moments was when we took a sneak peak at the room prior to our guests arriving, and it looked beautiful!

Candy Buffet: Chicago Wedding Candy Buffet is who created our candy buffet, and we loved it!!! It looked great! They set it up, brought all their own treats, and even personalized the buffet to Eric and I and our wedding colors. It included everything from pixie sticks, to candy rings, to home made dipped oreos and fortune cookies. It was a huge hit with our guests and way above and beyond what I ever thought a candy buffet could be! One of our favorite wedding details!

Entertainment: DJ Arkitek, a friend of Eric’s, provided the music for our wedding reception, and he did not disappoint! The dance floor was packed until the end of the night, and he included many genres of music to suit all of our guests. All the dancing was definitely a top memory from the night!

Photo Booth and Up-lighting: Non-Stop Entertainment provided our purple up-lighting and photo booth. The lighting looked great on the brick walls of our loft-like venue, and everyone should have a photo booth WITH PROPS at their wedding! The guests loved it, and Eric and I enjoyed looking at all the pictures everyone took!

Cake topper, bathroom baskets, Chicago Bears garter, lego ring bearer boxes, table numbers, place card candles, bubbles, programs, and tons more were all thanks to Etsy! All my wedding details came together with Etsy! It was amazing what we found on there. My cake topper was a replica of Eric, our English Bulldog Diego, and I, and it was one of our favorite details!

Last, but certainly not least, my amazing photographer Hilda and her assistant Carolyn were easily the best money we spent! Not only did they capture every moment and detail to perfection, but Hilda was my right-hand woman throughout the whole day! She made sure we were right on schedule, was always there to help with anything, and really kept things going smoothly throughout the day! The pictures I have seen so far have gone above and beyond anything that we thought could be captured on camera, and we can’t wait to see the rest! Hiring Angel Eyes Photography to photograph our wedding was hands down the best decision we made! Thanks to Hilda, we will have amazing memories from our special day forever! “
