Garrett Theological Seminary’s Chapel at Northwestern University in Evanston | Betsy & Will Wedding [1]-

Where do I even start with Betsy & Will? They are the kind of people you wish were your actual¬†friends. From the fist meeting though the wedding it’s been a blast. They are so sweet, kind, friendly, fun and I just had so much fun photographing them ūüôā

Love this one!

Most amazing stained glass I’ve ever seen! Favorite!!

On the way to the reception a ¬†little fun…

…and a little romance.

The reception was the the Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe.

From Betsy & Will…

‘Dress – Ultimate Bride in Chicago, IL (¬†http://www.ultimatebride.com/ ). ¬†I worked with Rachel at Ultimate Bride and was very impressed with their process and assistance in finding the perfect dress! ¬†I went in knowing I wanted lace and simple v-line straps and I ended up falling in love with a strapless gown with the most beautiful lace pattern I could have ever imagined! ¬†Rachel was supportive and encouraging with every dress I tried and helped me imagine custom straps made with the lace from the dress. ¬†Maria in alterations was a genius and I was in awe of the final product! ¬†My mother also purchased her stunning mother of the bride dress at Ultimate Bride.

Bridesmaids Dresses РBella Bridesmaid in Chicago, IL ( http://www.bellabridesmaid.com/ ).  Again, very helpful and friendly staff willing to work with my vision and make it come true!  We loved the way the colors accented one another and how the dresses looked great on all of my beautiful bridesmaids!

Tuxedos РFormerly Modern Tuxedo, Chicago, IL (http://www.formallymodern.com/ ).  Another great referral from Alicia, Formerly Modern Tuxedo was exactly what we were looking for.  Will had a specific idea for a dressed down tuxedo for the groomsmen, ushers, and himself.  The process was easy and all of the men looked simply amazing!  They also were able to purchase their additional accessories (cuff links, ties, etc.) to go with the Tuxes.

Church Venue – Garrett Theological Seminary’s Chapel of the Unnamed Faithful at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. ¬†My grandfather was a Methodist minister and as a girl growing up I always dreamed of having him perform the ceremony at my wedding. ¬†Unfortunately he passed away before that could happen, so when Will and I got engaged one of the most important aspects of the wedding to us was finding a place that was special to us but also special to my Papa in his time as a minister. ¬†He and my mother both went to Garrett Theological Seminary and have special ties to the Chapel of the Unnamed Faithful. ¬†The staff at Garrett were very helpful in arranging for us to have our wedding there and making all of the accommodations for us and our guests.

Day of Coordinator – Alicia Blumer from Occasions Event Planning. ¬†We actually were given Alicia’s information from Connie at the Garden and we are SO happy we found her! ¬†None of the perfection of our day could have been accomplished if not for Alicia’s help. ¬†She is so patient, sweet, and hard working… our only regret is that we didn’t contact her sooner! ¬†She was¬†pivotal¬†in making everything come together through communicating with vendors, answering the millions of questions we had, organizing a realistic time line, and executing just about everything on the day of our wedding – including bringing the bride and bridesmaids lunch as we were getting ready before the ceremony! ¬†She was a life saver and such a joy to work with.

Photography – Angel Eyes Photography (¬†http://www.angeleyesphotography.com/ ). ¬†Hilda, Hilda, Hilda… where to start?! ¬†Apart from the venues, the photographer was on the top of our list when we got engaged as far as what was most important to us. ¬†Connie at the Botanic Garden gave me a few recommendations and Hilda was at the top of her list. ¬†She was the first photographer I contacted and we knew during our first meeting with her that she was the one. ¬†Not only is her work incredible, which is obvious to anyone who sees anything she does, but she is also a wonderful person whom we have come to love very much! ¬†She is a natural and has a way about her that makes people comfortable, which makes for exceptional photos. ¬†I have to say that on the day of the wedding she also turned out to be one of my saviors – making sure I had what I needed, was on schedule, and happy all day long. ¬†There is no doubt for either of us that she is our photographer for life… whether she likes it or not ;)’

The photo above cracks me up, the little flower girls are watching the ducks, while the boys are wrestling. ¬†Don’t forget to check back for part two coming soon and check Facebook for more photos ūüôā

Chicago urban engagement session | Kristen and Jerry-

Kristen & Jerry  are so sweet and comfortable with each other, they were very easy and photogenic subjects.

Jerry has the best smile!

Golden hour light how I love thee.

I love finding random urban art in Chicago.

Kristen might as well be a professional model, she’s so good with ¬†posing.

Cara and Adam, wedding at Meyer’s Castle in Dyer Indiana

Cara and Adam’s wedding was full of beauty, fun and amazing detail. ¬†Just love the combination soft colors in ¬†the bouquet. The wedding and the reception took place at¬†Meyers Castle.

Her dress was one of the most¬†unique¬†I’ve ever seen! The entire bodice was covered in feathers!!

Loved her romantic hair do.

The signing of the Ketubah.

Love this photo, kind of looks like a water color painting.

One of my favorites ūüôā

So cute!

Waiting for the ceremony to start.

The Breaking the Glass.

Cara’s Mom painted all the table signs, Diane is an¬†amazing¬†artist ¬†check out her Etsy store.

Photo of the week ~ Nicole~ [Makray Memorial Golf Club, Barrington Wedding planning]-

Love this photo of Nicole, I mean really she’s gorgeous and willing to lay down on a piano in her wedding dress. However the best part of the day for me was how great she dealt with the severe weather that came though…I told told her not to worry we’ll find some great spots to shoot inside, she looked at me with a smile and said “I’m not worried, I knew you’d have a plan” I think this is the best ‘we-are-stuck-inside-because-it’s-raining’ ¬†photo of a Bride I ever took ūüôā

Cuneo Mansion and Gardens in Vernon Hills Illinois wedding photos, Sara and Chad part 1-

This was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Sara and Chad live in another state so Sara’s Mom was a wonderful local contact person to help with the planning details. In the end¬†everything¬†went off without a hitch (despite the heat and humidity) and I have a new favorite venue I like to recommend.

Bridal gown from the   Robin Jillian Bridal collection.

In one window Sara’s wedding dress, in the other her Mom’s wedding dress.

I would love to have gorgeous eyes like that.

The girls had so much fun getting the Bride into her dress.

Joesph’s Florist in Libertyville, IL. did and amazing job with the flowers.

Her sisters help with the veil…obviously beauty runs in the family.

Photo of the handsome Groom by Carol Lea.

The first look, Sara decided to have some fun with the¬†Groom¬†while his eyes were closed ūüėČ

Both the ceremony and the reception took place at the¬† Cuneo Mansion and Gardens in Vernon Hills, Illinois. This is one of the most gorgeous and unique venues I’ve ever seen in the entire Chicagoland. It’s also a museum, it’s so worth a¬†visit.

Tuxes/suits by Jos. A. Banks.

The bridesmaids all wore Bill Levkoff.

These two were so cute!

Loves the centerpieces!

Check back soon for part two ūüôā

One more favorite.

From the Bride…

‘Venue:¬† We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all at the Cuneo Mansion and Gardens in Vernon Hills, Il.¬†¬†¬† It could not have been more perfect (aside from the 90+ heat)¬†¬† The gardens were in full bloom for the ceremony, the terrace was set up beautifully for the cocktail hour including my favorite the apple martinis and ice luge!¬†¬†¬† The dinner was INCREDIBLE not to mention the impressive formal presentation in which everyone was served.¬†¬†¬† Mary Bauer was an absolute doll!¬† She walked us through every detail of the events for the Wedding Day and was more than accommodating as both the bride and groom had to travel in from out of town.¬†¬† I would highly recommend the Cuneo for anyone who is looking for¬† a place that has it all, beauty, location, presentation, history and a staff and chief that are OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Dress:¬†¬†My wedding dress and veil were¬†all purchased in West Des Moines,¬†IA¬† at Stacey’s Formal Wear.¬† They are only one of a hand full of bridal salons in the country that¬†carry the Robin Jillian bridal collection.¬†¬†¬†The dress was the third one I tried on and it was¬†over after that!

Flowers:¬† Our flowers and centerpieces were done by Joesph’s Florist in Libertyville, IL.¬† Jill made all my dreams come true with everything that was¬†put together.¬†¬† She¬†was able to take my simple ideas and turn them into masterpieces!¬† I can not say enough wonderful things about her or the rest of the staff at Joesph’s!

Photographer:¬† Angel Eyes! The best of the best and I would recommend them to anyone.¬†¬†¬†Hilda’s ability to capture moments¬†and¬†true¬†expression is the best I have seen.¬†¬†¬†Both¬†Hilda and Carol were extremely easy to work with, and the best part of it they also liked to have fun!¬† It was almost like we were hanging out with friends the entire day.¬†¬† I would hire Angel Eyes Photography again in a heart beat!¬† Thank you so much – the memories would not be the same without you being part of our special day!’

The Metropolitan Club at Sears Tower/Willis Tower, Chicago Wedding photos-

Let’s just start this blog post off with a bang! Yep here it is my favorite photo…Loved working with this couple. they gave me hours to play with a vintage Cadillac and of course a¬†gorgeous¬†Bride never hurts right? ūüėČ ¬†(Click¬†here to see part one of their wedding.)

Favorite, LOVE!!!! Girl you sure are stunning!!

They wanted an Old Hollywood vintage feel to¬†their¬†wedding, of course I’m happy to oblige.

Yep, she nailed it!

In this same spot, the Groom waited for her on their first date with a¬†bouquet¬†of flowers…so of course we had to pay homage to that.

Awesome car from Vintage Chauffeuring in Plainfield.

Some quick photos  by the Sears Tower (Willis Tower)

This photo has the best story behind it, totally worth a read.

St. Charles Country Club, [St Charles Illinois wedding planning] Jessica and Adam, photo of the week-

Here’s one of my favorites from Jess & Adam’s wedding…if you listen carefully you’ll hear my assistant Carol Lea squealing¬†with delight. Yeah, it was one of those epic weddings we’ll always talk about…”Hey Carol¬†remember¬†when the Bride got in the bath tub in her wedding dress, ¬†and remember when the B&G ¬†laid down on the grass with no blanket? Yeah, it was EPIC!”

Here’s one more because she’s just so adorable!!! The rubber ducky was already there, notice how the bottom of her dress looks like bubbles.
