The Wit Chicago downtown Wedding photos, Kristen and Jerry photo of the week-

I appreciate couples like Kristen and Jerry…they will climb and sit without fear on anything…even when a button came off the dress before the wedding, Kristen didn’t even bat one beautiful eyelash. I still have your button Kristen, I’m keeping it as a souvenir form your wedding.  🙂

The Wit Hotel is just gorgeous! Excellent service, highly recommend them.

Chicago Botanic Gardens wedding planning, photo of the week–Sandra-

I am in LOVE with Sandra’s dress, the open back is so sexy and the pretty thin chain was just the perfect accessory. Taken at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe IL.

A New Leaf Chicago Wedding |Unique wedding venue | Jen and Chris-

Since this amazing wedding took place at a flower shop, I’m going to start with flowers A New Leaf is one the the most unique venues I have ever worked at…the photo ops are endless!

Jen and Chris decided to do a first look, which I recommend for all my couples. A first look is when the Bride and Groom see each other before the ceremony, so  they can do all the fun/romantic/formal/family photos before the party. This way after the ceremony they can enjoy themselves and mingle with the guests 🙂

LOVE his reaction!

The Bride’s beauiful bouquet.

A New Leaf is such a fun place to shoot.

Jen you looked gorgeous! Hair by Salon U, Make Up by Dori Mae.

Bridesmaids’ Dresses:  J Crew, Sinclair Dress in Silk Chiffon.

Ceremony time.

Can you imagine the gorgeous kids these two will have?

Cocktail hour.

THE BEST soup I’ve ever had…served in an apple.

Toast & Jam were the rockin’ DJ’s.

From the Bride…

A New Leaf is a flower shop in Old Town in Chicago. Old Town is known for it’s unique spaces, small businesses, and historic buildings. The groom and I often pass by  A New Leaf on a walk to Lincoln Park, or on our way to the quaint Old Town restaurants on Wells Street.
As I recall… First, we fell in love with Old Town. Shortly after, we wandered into this flower shop, and we fell in love with the space. Then, when we fell in love with each other, we just knew that this was where our wedding would take place. This is not a typical, traditional wedding space, and that is exactly why we love it so much.

Bridal Dress:
House of Brides, Allure Bridal

Hair: Jacqueline, Salon U, Kelly, Moka

A New Leaf Garden and StudioThe bridesmaids carried calla lilies and the groomsmen had billy ball boutonnieres.

DJ& Music
Toast and Jam, Carrie. She did a great job. We had her DJ the reception as well as part of the ceremony. We also had a harpist (one of my old students, Karinn) during the processional. Her music was absolutely magical.

Horse & Carriage:
Noble Horse. The horse and carriage was briefly canceled because the temperature rose above 90. We were so sad. Then, a huge storm blew through about three hours before the ceremony. We were devastated as we watched the black skies and fallen tree branches out the window. Then, just as quickly as it blew in, the storm was gone. The sun came out, the temperature fell to 85 degrees, and the horse and carriage was back on!’

Chicago Botanic Gardens Wedding in Glencoe Illinois | Betsy and Will [2]-

So let’s just start this blog post with one of my favorite photos. You two are gorgeous! (To see part one of their blog post click here)

A wedding at the beautiful Botanic Gardens in Glencoe is always flawless. Connie & Kristina will make all your wedding dreams come true 🙂

These were seriously my favorite table settings and best centerpieces ever! The color combinations are gorgeous. If I remember correctly Betsy painted those bottles by hand, she’s one talented lady, check out her Etsy shop.

Flowers by Pistil & Vine, they never disappoint, love their work!

Loved this Bridal party!  [A special shout out to Jaye & Melissa, hey there party people!!!!]

Cocktail hour.

The view from the reception, I mean come on doesn’t it look like a dream?

First dance.

Karin from Toast & Jam was their awesome DJ.

Oh, yeah…it was a great party 🙂

From Betsy & Will…

‘Reception Venue – Chicago Botanic Garden, McGinley Pavillion ( http://www.chicagobotanic.org/events/ ).  I cannot say enough about the amazing staff and personnel at the Chicago Botanic Garden who made our reception dreams come true!  We knew we wanted a venue for the reception that would have an outdoor area and we could not have dreamed of a better location. The McGinley Pavillion overlooks a beautiful pond and scenery at the Garden while also offering the perfect blend of covered and un-covered outdoor space.  Connie and her staff worked tirelessly to make everything perfect and they were all so helpful every step of the way.  We came to know Connie on a more personal level and it was so nice to work with someone who you felt comfortable with and knew you could trust!  Another important aspect of having the Botanic Garden host the reception was the ease with which the food and cake catering was arranged.  The food, organized and prepared through Culinary Landscape, was unbelievably delicious as was our beautiful cake and cake pops provided by Oak Mill Bakery.  People are still raving about the incredible food, service, and venue of our reception and we could not have been more happy with how everything turned out!

DJ – Toast & Jam ( http://www.toastandjamdjs.com/ ).  We felt strongly that we wanted a DJ for the reception, and one who would play fun music from different genres and keep the party going until we were forced to stop! DJ – Toast & Jam ( http://www.toastandjamdjs.com/ ).  We felt strongly that we wanted a DJ for the reception, and one who would play fun music from different genres and keep the party going until we were forced to stop!  Karin from Toast & Jam delivered just that and we were thrilled to see so many of our guests constantly up dancing and having fun throughout the evening!  On a personal level, Karin was so sweet and open to every last idea and feeling we had about songs and the flow of the evening.delivered just that and we were thrilled to see so many of our guests constantly up dancing and having fun throughout the evening!  On a personal level, Karin was so sweet and open to every last idea and feeling we had about songs and the flow of the evening.

Flowers – Pistil & Vine ( http://www.pistilandvine.com/ ).  Meg from Pistil & Vine in Chicago was yet another vendor that we absolutely fell in love with and feel so lucky to have found!  She was a referral from Alicia and I knew the second we walked into her beautiful shop that we had found the best of the best.  I had a somewhat specific vision of what we were looking for with the various floral arrangements for our ceremony, reception, and bouquets.  I am in to DIY projects and found (through Pinterest, of course!) a fun way to personalize the decor at your wedding using glass bottles and jars, a little paint, and a florist willing to work with you to make it come true.  Meg was not only open to my ideas and contributions to the floral decor and making it a simple yet elegant accent to the Botanic Garden scenery, she was enthusiastic about it and absolutely made every last detail perfect.  The set up was flawless and everyone has told me how beautiful the floral arrangements and decor was and, if I do say so myself, I couldn’t agree more!’

Cuneo Mansion & Gardens Vernon Hills Illinois wedding venue | Sara & Chad-2-

Below is part two to Sara & Chad’s wedding, please click here to see part one. The Cuneo Mansion is one of my favorite wedding venues I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.

Flowers by Joseph’s Florist in Libertyville, IL

Rev. Jim Rehnberg is The Rent-a-Rev. He’s a fabulous and funny officiant, I love working with him 🙂

My view from the carriage…Hi Carol!

The newlyweds take a private stroll around the property.

Cake by Oak Mill Bakery in Arlington Heights.

Music & Lighting by MDM Entertainment, they are always on my highly recommended DJ list.

David did an amazing job keeping the dance floor packed!

From the Bride…

‘Ceremony and Cocktail Hour Music was done by Kerena and Paul Moeller of Mollers Music. They are a classical guitar and cello duo and they made our ceremony even more special with their beautiful music.   They then upped the tempo slightly and continued to play throughout our cocktail hour.

DJ:  We had MDM DJ the reception and they also provided the up lighting for us.  David O was the best- hands down 🙂  He was extremely easy to work with, very well organized, and most importantly he really knows how to keep the dance floor full!  There was not a point from the time he started playing until the end of the the night that the entire floor was not packed!

Flowers:  Our flowers and centerpieces were done by Joseph’s Florist in Libertyville, IL.  Jill made all my dreams come true with everything that was put together.   She was able to take my simple ideas and turn them into masterpieces!  I can not say enough wonderful things about her or the rest of the staff at Joseph’s!

Carriage:  Long Grove Carriage was a great company to work with.  They were prompt, the carriage was gorgeous, the white horse looked clean and well kept and the driver was dressed to the nines – top hat and all!    After we were picked up from the ceremony we were surprised with a bottle of campaign and a ride around the entire property, it was so nice to have just those 10 minutes alone with my new husband!   After we returned he even offered to stay longer than they were contracted to give rides to the children.  I highly recommend them!’
