Holt’s Restaurant Park Ridge IL engagement photos | The Pickwick Theater Park Ridge | Tina & Mark

I love it when couples personalize their engagement session. Tina and Mark had their first date at Holt’s Restaurant in Park Ridge. They discovered that they both liked Old-Fashioned (the drink) and they quickly got to know each other after a few of these 😉 So when they suggested that we do part of the session at the restaurant, I jumped at the chance. I even got to try their favorite drink, and I’m happy to report that is was yummy!!

The historic Pickwick Theatre is just a block from the restaurant, and we took some photos there.

Cantigny Engagement Photos in Wheaton | Cantigny Park Engagement Session |

This happy couple was so fun and easy to photograph…their only request? Flowers and color, I think that’s a check for both!!  Cantigny is one of the prettiest places for photos in the Chicago-land area…they just are going though a little construction and the new additions will be so worth it! The Park includes large formal and informal gardens, two museums, a 27-hole golf course, a picnic grove, a playground, hiking paths, restaurants and a gift shop.

Could these geese have better timing? I was so happy I caught it!!

Hair and make up by Melanie Larson.

Halfway though the session, their puppies Lucy & Lola came to join them <3

Second stop, North Ave. beach.

And if you think working with dogs is easy, I give you this perfect outtake 😀

Millennium Park and Chicago Cultural Center engagement photos | Ridhwana & Jason

This happy couple wanted something different for their engagement photos.  I suggested the Chicago Cultural Center, it’s a beautiful place not only for photos, but it also has several free museums inside and it’s open to the public 7 days a week!  Since Millennium Park is right across the street, we made a quick stop there too 🙂

Chicago engagement photos in Lincoln Park-South Pond bridge | wedding photographer | Yesenia & Roly

Lincoln Park-South Pond bridge is truly is one of the most stunning locations in all the city, and perfectly captures the  contrast of concrete and steel skyscrapers rising above the natural beauty of Lincoln Park. That’s where I met up with this gorgeous couple for their Fall engagement photos.

Fall engagement session | Chicago-Park Ridge wedding and engagement photographer | Maja & Travis

This beautiful engagement session took place right across the street from my studio, at Pioneer Park. I’m so lucky to have such a great location, there are several parks within a 3 block radius, and a beautiful waterfall too 🙂

Yes, they look like models…yes they are just as sweet as they are gorgeous!! We lucked out with the most perfect fall day, look at those colors!

My studio is located at 7132 N. Harlem in Chicago (#205) Niles and Park Ridge are within walking distance…send me an email to schedule your session 🙂

The Library Club | The Rookery Building | Chicago wedding & engagement photographer | Lilian & Steve

Lilian and Steve had the most epic locations for their engagement session. These amazing buildings are usually off limits unless you work there, but thanks to Steve we had spacial access. The first one is  called the  The Library Club.

“Forty floors above the hustle and bustle of the Loop, this 7,000-square-foot former law library has been transformed into the two-story private club known as the Library. The room features a custom-built mahogany bar and several alcoves and is furnished with richly upholstered sofas and leather chairs. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide stunning views of Lake Michigan and the majestic statue of Ceres on top of the Chicago Board of Trade building.”

The other amazing building was The Rookery Building. If you’re looking for a unique venue for a wedding or other event venue, both these amazing locations are highly recommended.

“The Rookery Building is a historic landmark located at 209 South LaSalle Street in the Loop community area of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States. Completed by John Wellborn Root and Daniel Burnham of Burnham and Root in 1888, it is considered one of their masterpiece buildings, and was once the location of their office. The building measures 181ft, is twelve stories tall and is considered the oldest standing high-rise in Chicago. It has a unique style with exterior load-bearing walls and an interior steel frame, which provided a transition between accepted and new building techniques. The lobby was remodeled in 1905 by Frank Lloyd Wright. Beginning in 1989, the lobby was restored to the original Wright design.”

Cantigny Park engagement photos | Chicago wedding photographer | Courtney & James

One of the most beautiful parks in the Chicagoland area is Cantigny Park.  Cantigny is a 500-acre park in Winfield, Illinois, 30 miles west of Chicago. It is the former estate of Joseph Medill and his grandson Colonel Robert R. McCormick, publishers of the Chicago Tribune, and is open to the public.

Had a great time with Courtney & James, they are a gorgeous couple and incredibly sweet.  Also they are the perfect example on how to dress for engagement photos. Perfectly coordinated without being too matchy matchy  😉

Morton Arboretum engagement photos | Chicago wedding photographer | Amy & Dan

A 1,700 acre tree museum, with award-winning Children’s Garden and Maze Garden. The Morton Arboretum is a leading center of tree science. If you’ve never been you should go, it’s a great way to spend a day.

Had a blast exploring with this happy couple, they were up for anything, and it was an absolutely perfect day for an engagement session.
